AIRLINE OPERATIONS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY

04 May 2010

1500 - Tuesday 4th April, 2010: Irish-controlled airspace is open and the Irish Aviation Authority is meeting fully the demands off the airlines schedules since 1300 hrs local.

Current information from the Volcanic Ash Advice Centre (VAAC) suggests that the risk of a further incursion of the volcanic ash cloud into Irish airspace is minimal for the next twenty four (24) hours, and consequently, any further restrictions before 1300 tomorrow 5th May 2010, are unlikely.

The IAA will continue to monitor the movement of volcanic ash, and will make issue a further update at 0900 hours on Wednesday 5th May, or sooner, if the situation changes.

Airline passengers should continue to contact their airline websites to establish the up to date position on flight schedules.
