Delays at Dublin Airport - Statement from the Irish Aviation Authority 13:45
The Irish Aviation Authority is continuing to monitor its air traffic control system at Dublin Airport. The cause of the problem has been identified. However, in the interest of safety, the current level of operation represents 70% of total capacity.
The impact on departing traffic has not been significant although delays are being experienced by incoming flights. The Authority is working hard to minimise any such delays.
Any further increase in capacity will only be made following complete assurances from the IAA's engineers, the Authority's Safety Management Unit and Thales ATM.
The Irish Aviation Authority regrets the inconvenience caused to our customers and the travelling public for the continuing restrictions arising from a technical problem with its air traffic control system at Dublin Airport.
Intending passengers should contact their airline for updated flight information.
The Irish Aviation Authority will provide a further update on the situation throughout the evening.
