May Traffic Figures - Downward Spiral Continues

10 May 2009: Irish Air Traffic reflected the European trend for May 2009 with Air Traffic declining in all the key areas.
- En route operations (over flights) were down -12% on May 2008.
- North Atlantic HF Flights \communications showed a similar trend down -10% % on the same month last year.
- Commercial Air traffic movements at the State airports were down on May 2008 as follows Dublin -14.8%, Shannon –21.6% and Cork -27.9%.
2009, January to the end of May showed the following trends:
- En route Over flights, down by -8.2%
- North Atlantic Communications, down by -7.8%
- Dublin Commercial Terminal Movements, down by -12.7%
- Cork Commercial Terminal Movements, down by -25.6%
- Shannon Commercial Terminal Movements, down by -11.9%
- Combined Commercial movements for the three State airports were down -14.3%
