New General Managers take up positions

9 November 2009: Mr David Usher appointed General Manager of Dublin ACC and Mr Aidan Fox appointed General Manager of Shannon ACC have taken up their positions today.

Mr David Usher

Dave Usher left school in 1984 and worked in the tyre business for four years before joining Ryanair in 1988. While in Ryanair he held a number of managerial positions in the Commercial side of the business in areas including revenue management, charter sales, pricing, scheduling and new route development.  In September 2005, he was appointed Deputy Director - Airports and was responsible for ground operations at Ryanair's non-base airports. 

In January 2007, he moved to the role of Deputy Director Operations Control with responsibility for the safe, compliant and punctual operation of over 1,300 flights per day on a fleet of over 200 aircraft.

 

Mr Aidan Fox 

Aidan Fox worked for Aer Lingus for 21 years and his last role was as manager of flight dispatch which he held since 2002. His responsibilities included flight dispatch and flight planning, fuel management, and air traffic management, including service delivery and cost efficiencies of Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs). Aidan has held roles in aeronautical information services, flight planning, operational technical support, and business continuity planning.

Aidan has significant experience in the airline industry and was a member of the Irish/UK FAB Management Board as well as co-chair of the FAB Services Provision Working Group. He also represented Aer Lingus on the Operational Partnership Agreement with NATS in the UK. Aidan is also Vice President East of the International Federation of Airline Dispatchers Associations.

Aidan has a degree in Business Studies and holds a Flight Dispatch qualification from the Federal Aviation Authority in the USA
