Peter G. Ledbetter appointed as Board Director of Irish Aviation Authority
The Irish Aviation Authority is pleased to announce the appointment by the Minister for Transport of Peter G. Ledbetter as a Board Director of the Irish Aviation Authority.
Mr Ledbetter is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and alumni of Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Having spent several years with Coopers & Lybrand, Mr Ledbetter joined GPA Group plc. at its inception in 1975 where he was closely involved in the formation of the company’s evolving strategy, as well as the execution of its policies from 1975 to 1990.
He was an Executive Director of Irish Life and Permanent plc. from 1991 - 2000.
Commenting on the announcement and in welcoming the appointment of Peter Ledbetter, Jerry Liston, Chairman of the Irish Aviation Authority, said “The Authority and Irish aviation will benefit greatly from this appointment. Peter Ledbetter brings with him unrivalled financial experience at the highest level and this will be invaluable to the Authority in meeting the growing challenges in the years ahead. Chief Executive Eamonn Brennan welcomed the appointment and said that Peter Ledbetter’s experience with the aviation leasing industry would be a tremendous asset to the Board.
